13 Romanian students won gold medals at the International Applied Chemistry Olympiad (IAChO) 2024 in Bandung, Indonesia. The Ministry of Education did not pay for the plane tickets and even delayed the trip, according to the coordinating teacher Daniela Bogdan.
“Congratulations to the parents who cultivated in their children the spirit of never giving up, supporting them financially to participate in the IAChO, an Olympiad that is in the calendar of competitions financed by the Ministry of Education, but which was not even financed with 1 leu. On the contrary, ME delayed so much a decision (and an answer to the requests I made in writing), that I bought the plane tickets at a much higher price, for the last hundred meters. But about these practices of some characters who temporarily populate an institution that deals with the smooth running of education, I will write and speak more extensively in the coming days. Now we are happy and we are looking forward to returning home”, wrote Daniela Bogdan, in a post on Facebook.
The prizes obtained by the students of Daniela Bogdan (National College “Saint Sava” from Bucharest) are: Dumitrascu Diana – Gold medal; Mircea Maria Ioana – Gold medal; Sǎlǎgean Ruxandra Maria – Gold medal; Gușițǎ Mihnea Costin – Gold medal; Bonca Andra Teodora – Gold medal; Constantin Francesca Alexandra – Gold medal; Cumpǎnǎsoiu Denisa Gabriela – Gold medal; Sterpu Liviu Alexandru – Gold medal; Androne Otilia Maria – Gold medal; Ionițǎ Alexia Maria – Gold medal.
